Used for more than sports, this weapon is the favored tool of the "Hoods". Two hits to the face and he's out! These are the actual bats that have been used in Starkweather's films and are signed by individual hunters!

The Wooden Baseball Bat,[1] also referred to as Wooden Bat in the official manual, is a red class weapon in Manhunt and one of many Baseball Bat variants.

Description[]

The wooden Baseball Bat is one of the primary weapons of the Hoods and the first Red Class Weapon introduced to the player. It is also wielded by two Innocentz at the Carcer Chem Factory in Graveyard Shift.

Along with its metal variant, this Wooden Bat is one of the two Red class melee weapons along with the Chainsaw, dealing more damage than any melee weapon as it downs a hunter with 4 heavy attacks before finishing them with 2 hits. When grappling hunters with a Bat, a full 3-hit combo and another grab with just 1 hit can kill them.

Because of its length and weight, the player can swing the Bat around a corner (whether they are standing or crouching) while pressed against cover to attack on an incoming hunter. The move can only be done at the edge of a corner where the player's weapon will be raised up when facing left or held at chest level if facing right, both of which have no effect on gameplay. If the attack successfully lands on a hunter, it will stun them for approximately 3 seconds. Doing this on a low health hunter will knock them to the floor for approx. 5 seconds if they survive the hit. While stunned in the idle or suspicious states, the hunter may be briefly locked on to for a quick execution, but in the alerted state, they cannot be locked on to for executions (the player will simply assume a combat stance instead as if the player were still spotted) until this brief interval after they stand up and recover from the stun before spotting the player if they aren't hiding. The player can only exploit this if they stand away from them in a certain distance.

It has the ability to destroy heads in its Gruesome execution, but it can also destroy heads on corpses (even beheaded ones) if the player stands on top of its head area before hitting it, which gives a single point to the scene's final ratings. As such, the player may spend less time locking on to enemies for lengthier executions while still achieving the maximum final score. For instance, the player can simply perform any Hasty execution, then destroy the dead hunter's head for an additional point, giving them the equivalent points of what they could've gotten with a Violent execution.[2]

Executions[]

Note: All variants of the Baseball Bat share the same execution animations with no differences whatsoever.
