Drunk Driving is the 9th scene in Manhunt.
Plot Summary[]
James Earl Cash, under the director's orders, has to escort a tramp through the derelict landscape of East Los Albos to the Carcer City Church, reaching the graveyard, while also having to deal with many Innocentz that patrol the areas.
Scene[]
Introduction[]
Shortly after the revelation of Cash's family's death, the Director finds him a "new friend" to fill in his loneliness. However, he is locked in a cell guarded by a Babyface.
Cell[]
Cash lures the Babyface guard armed with a Sickle and executes him with a Knife he has somehow acquired. A buzzing alarm sounds, signifying that the cell door has been unlocked. Cash goes to the cell and finds his new friend; a tramp. The Director reinforces the fact that he will have to be with Cash so that he can unlock the gates up ahead, alive and well.
First Gate[]
Ahead, an Innocent wanders from one side to the other, Cash can order the Tramp to stay in the shadows, waiting for him to finish off the hunter. After being killed by him, Cash orders him to continue so that, further ahead, the first gate will unlock.
Second Gate[]
On a street of ruined buildings, a trio of Innocentz stand by a barrel fire in the middle of the street, one of them even complaining about having to stand guard while "the others have all the fun". Cash executes the trio, gets the tramp to follow him to the next gate inside a derelict house.
Third Gate[]
Cash finds another three Innocentz near the busses, Cash goes to execute them. Cash goes to a stairs leading to a bathroom, an Innocent jumps out to the scene from the shadows, jumpscares. Cash hides and execute the Innocent when he lost Cash. Cash goes back to the tramp, commands him to follow Cash, gets to the third gate inside the bathroom.
Fourth Gate[]
Outside the bathroom, Cash commands the tramp to hide once again. Cash spots three Innocentz hanging by the fire in a burnt house. Cash executes the trio. Cash gets back to the tramp, commands him to follow to the next gate near outside the burnt house.
Fifth Gate[]
The duo gets to a graveyard near the street. An Innocent jumps from the shadows, jumpscares. Cash goes hide to lose his tail on the Innocent, and kills the Innocent. Cash spots another Innocent with a Sawn Off Shotgun, Cash kills the Innocent to get the weapon. Another Innocent with a Sawn Off, Cash shoots the Innocent. Gets back to the tramp and commands to follow him to the next gate.
Final Gate[]
Many of Innocentz spotted Cash in the graveyard, a shooting combat happens. Cash shoots all of the Innocentz while trying to protect the tramp from dying. Cash gets the tramp to follow him to the final gate, and then the scene ends to the next scene, Graveyard Shift.

Trivia[]
- "Drunk Driving" obviously makes reference to the crime of driving under the influence of alcohol, also relating to the Tramp and his strong alcoholic tendencies.
- It is not exactly explained why Cash has a Knife as his starting weapon. This could likely be a leftover the Prototype Version 0.69, as Cash finds a knife in the Mall level (early View of Innocence) before advancing to the Church.
- Starkweather has lines of dialogue telling Cash to enter an abandoned house and go into a pedestrian tunnel, reflecting a certain section that was entirely cut out of the level.[2]
- The Wire or the Machete can be spawned in this scene via trainers. However, using them to execute hunters will crash the game. This happens because the severed head is missing from the scene files.
- The "Spotted" and "Combat" variations of the soundtrack were also used in the game's opening titles, expanded and altered, creating "the Manhunt theme". [3]
- There is cut dialogue that suggests that some of the Innocentz are uncomfortable with the idea of killing the Tramp.[4] Additionally, more cut dialogue indicates that a member of the Innocentz knows who the Tramp is.[5]
