East Los Albos (English: The Whites) is a neighborhood of Carcer City that appears in Manhunt.

Description[]

It is assumed that the neighborhood is the main turf of the Innocentz, a mysterious but dangerous gang hired from there by the director Lionel Starkweather for his snuff film ring.[1] It is mostly made up of ruined buildings and derelict businesses and it is the location of the Carcer City Church, Carcer Chem Factory, and Carcer City Mall.

East Los Albos is very filthy, signified by the presence of rats. An Innocent may comment on this area's uncleanliness, saying that rat droppings and used condoms are strewn about here.[2]

During the time of the filming of Drunk Driving, the streets of Los Albos were closed by makeshift barriers made out of sheet metal and fence posts that were constructed by unknown individuals, possibly the Innocentz or Valiant Video's crew. These barriers blocked the way to behind the church and a construction site, forcing Cash and the tramp to take detours to these areas where they have no choice but to face the Innocentz to proceed.

History[]

Some time before the events of Manhunt, snuff film director Lionel Starkweather hired the Innocentz gang from this area to participate in his manhunt for an individual whose identity was not disclosed to the gang,[1] none of them aware that they were being set up to be murdered by said individual for a snuff film.

Events of Manhunt[]

Once Cash retires the Wardogs in Carcer City Zoo, the Cerberus transport the Director's actor to the Carcer City Mall. Rather than being dropped off at the starting location by the mercs, he is left to enter the mall alone through a shutter door, which quickly closes behind him when he finally gets in. Now he is sent by the Director to assume the View of Innocence when he is tasked to find a tape and a camera in the mall filled with gun-wielding Innocentz to watch a special movie just for him.

Cash finishes the shooting of the previous scene with an unfortunate loss before finding himself hiding away in a hole in a wall, somewhere within the Los Albos' urban area. The Director then tries to appease his newfound loneliness by giving him a new friend. However, he informs him that the Innocentz have imprisoned him, so he tells him to free him from the gang. Cash does so and finds out that his new friend is a tramp whom he must protect and escort to the graveyard in an act of Drunk Driving. Cash protects the hobo from the Innocentz roaming the streets of Los Albos before leading him to the graveyard behind the church.

Cash ends his sojourn at Los Albos when he faces the Innocentz one last time in Carcer Chem Factory to work a Graveyard Shift. He is tasked to make his way into and out of the factory while facing the various sabotages the Director had placed to give him the runaround. Nevertheless, Cash perseveres and escapes the factory with his life before being captured by the Cerberus who bring him away from East Los Albos.

Trivia[]

  • Like the name of the gang who has this place as their turf, the name “Los Albos” is ironic as it is inhabited by the corrupt Innocentz gang, not to mention the state of the place being filthy and run-down. Not to mention Cash's visit to this place is during nighttime.
