Leo can be playable in some episodes.
There are 15 episodes total in Manhunt 2. In order to unlock the next episode, players need to finish the incomplete current episode. On flashback episodes, players take control of Leo Kasper, instead of Daniel Lamb who is also playable in the story episodes.
There are two endings in Manhunt 2, Personality Clash also known as the "good ending" require the players to not kill too many innocent pedestrians along the gameplay, and Release Therapy also known as the "bad ending" require the players to kill many innocent pedestrians.
Completing any one of the two endings will unlock a feature to replay or "relive" any episodes, players can access the menu from the main menu.
Story Episodes[]
Story or main episodes takes place in the present day (circa 2007), players are taking control of Daniel. There are 10 main episodes.

A storm causes a brief power outage in the asylum that opens the cells, freeing the inmates who wreak havoc. Daniel Lamb and an unfamiliar man take advantage of the chaos to escape, while the orderlies attempt to restore order. |

The unfamiliar man instructs Danny to return to a derelict but familiar house whose contents inflict painful memories on the latter. There, he is told to find a drug that will dispel his amnesia and clear his mind. However, the Project's covert operations unit the Watchdogs are one step ahead of them, and so the pair must get through them first before proceeding with the plan. |

With the drug making him aware of his situation and Leo now familiar to him, Danny makes his own way to a Project-owned nightclub guarded by the vicious Pervs to find a scientist that may know his past, much to Leo's suspicious chagrin. |

Daniel and Leo (still reluctant on the former's plan) go to a red light district with the key given to him by Judy to the former's old safehouse above an adult theatre, which contains information of his past. While finding a way around the barricaded road to the theatre, they must face the local Red Kings gang, the police who are aware of Danny, and the Watchdogs. |

After Danny collects all the past information that both the safehouse and Leo has for him, the duo escape the safehouse to find Judy again with the Watchdogs on their tail. |

Danny falls asleep outside a brothel, haunted by memories of his career and his family. Leo wakes him up from his nightmare and tries to convince him to not carry on with entering the brothel to find Judy, but Danny stubbornly refuses. In the brothel, he must confront the hostile johns and pimps as well as the Watchdogs once again. |

Daniel and Leo are on the run from the Project's hired bounty hunters, the Bloodhounds, as they make their way through Cottonmouth to the train yard, where the Watchdogs are hoping to kill them. |

Daniel and Leo infiltrate a Project laboratory to capture Doctor Pickman alive for Leo's agenda. There, they must face the usual Watchdog threat, a few hostile Project scientists, and Pickman's attempts to incapacitate him through the use of a hypnotic phrase. |

With hopes of removing the Bridge and finding Danny's past gone with Pickman's life, Danny and Leo travel to the Project's TV-MK Studio to find at least a remnant of hope. Nearly giving up, they both hear a familiar name that they must now deal with: Dr. Whyte. They are ambushed by the Bloodhounds, however, and must make their way out of the studio. |

Having escaped the studio, Danny and Leo must push through the Bloodhounds in a set with Wild West scenery to pursue Dr. Whyte. |
Flashback Episodes[]
Flashback episodes takes place six years before the main episodes, circa 2001. Players take control of Leo. There are four flashback episodes.

In pursuit of Project scientist Michael Grant in a sugar factory island, Danny threatens his best friend to remove the “Pickman Bridge” from his head. The Project Militia close in on the island for an ambush to kill both Danny and Michael, which causes the latter to flee and prompting the killer duo to chase him for the boat keys so they can escape. |

Daniel assassinates a Project investor with the help of Leo in the Maibatzu Plaza. The Project Militia responds to the scene and tries to kill Daniel and Leo. |

Danny and Leo encroach upon a Project warehouse guarded by rent-a-cops to arson their past records that they can assume a new identity. Leo's first attempt at arson is caught by the Watchdogs, whom he must get through in order to burn the next pile of files. |

With Whyte's help, Danny tries to recall what happened during the night of the Project's fiasco when Leo made his way to the Lamb residence while going through the cops, SWAT, and vigilante neighbors. |

Unlocking the "secret" or "bonus" ending, Release Therapy requires minimum style points on each episodes before the endings, requirements are different between playing in Sane and Insane difficulties. [1]
