Grounds for Assault is the sixth scene in Manhunt.

Plot Summary[]

Cash's manhunt continues as he faces off the gung ho Wardogs in Carcer City's zoo.

Scene[]

Intro[]

Two Cerberus members feed Piggsy.

Two Cerberus soldiers enter a mysterious dark and run down room, where an obese man wearing pig skin - Piggsy - is chained to a wall and squealing violently. The soldiers argue among themselves and insult Piggsy before throwing his food on the ground, which he proceeds to devour in front of them.

The scene then cuts to Cash being dropped off at the entrance to the Carcer City Zoo by the Cerberus Securicar. Somewhere else on zoo's grounds Ramirez is shown commanding Cash's new hunters, the Wardogs.

Rope-tied Gate[]

The director briefly introduces the Wardogs and then Cash is set loose, albeit weaponless. Cash's first objective is to find himself a weapon he could use to get past the rope tied gate at the end of the entrance area, which he does simply by taking a machete from a killed Wardog.

Cash must then advance towards the zoo pens further in the territory, killing any hunters he encounters along the way.

The Zoo Pens[]

As he enters the zoo pens, Cash is given instructions to find the gates leading out on the other side of the area. As he reaches the doorway, he finds it padlocked. Starkweather hints at a crowbar being hidden somewhere in the territory, which Cash finds in a cave guarded by a Wardog. After retrieving it, Cash breaks the gate's lock and advances into the last area.

The Restaurant[]

As soon as Cash enters the final area, a Wardog carrying a tranquilizer rifle runs out onto a platform overviewing the territory, which Starkweather calls an improvization. Cash carefully advances onwards, eventually making his way onto the sniper's platform and killing him, taking his rifle in the process.

Cash then drops off the platform and into the restaurant area, where he is met by two last Wardog hunters. After disposing of them, Cash goes around the restaurant, past a padlocked gate and enters the second half of the zoo.

  • Get past the padlocked gate
  • Find a way into the restaurant at the top of the zoo
  • Go out the back of the restaurant to the exit

Trivia[]

  • Aside from referencing the zoo's territory as literal "grounds for assault", the scene's title may also mean that Cash's violent killing of the Wardogs is wellfounded or justified, possibly hinting at them being revealed as having kidnapped Cash's family in the following scene or simply due to their obviously immoral and evil nature.
  • A hidden sawn-off shotgun can be found behind a padlocked door in the corridor past the toilets at the general entrance area of the zoo.
  • Right before finishing the scene, it can be observed that the next area is blocked off to the left by a fence, and the only way to go is right. However, in the next scene, it's the opposite, as the path to the right is blocked off by a fence, and the only way to go is left.
