The Hammer is a blue class melee weapon featured in Manhunt.
Description[]
Besides killing hunters through close quarters or stealthy executions and making noise by knocking on walls, the Hammer has no special abilities. However...
Because of its length and weight, the player can swing a Hammer around a corner (whether they are standing or crouching) to attack an incoming hunter. The player can only perform this move at the edge of a corner, where the weapon will be raised up when facing left or held at chest level if facing right, both of which have no effect on gameplay. If the attack successfully lands, it will stun the hunter for approximately 3 seconds. While stunned in the idle state, they are briefly vulnerable to executions, but in the alerted state, they cannot be locked onto for executions (the player will simply assume a combat stance instead as if they were still spotted) until the brief interval when they recover from the stun before spotting the player if they are not hidden.
Executions[]
Type | Execution | Description |
---|---|---|
Hasty | The player grabs the target's shoulder to turn them towards him and kill them with a hammer to the face. | |
Violent | From behind, the player swings the hammer towards their occiput, causing them to kneel from the pain. The player pulls their head back and slams the hammer on their skull, killing them. | |
Gruesome | The player grabs the target's shoulder to turn them towards him and swings their hammer towards their chest, causing them to kneel and spew blood. The player kills them by swinging it up their chin. |
Appearances[]
- Manhunt
- Doing Time (At the entrance of cell block H)
Trivia[]
- Despite being hit in the head, a hunter struck by the first blow in the Hammer's Violent execution will grip his lower back in pain as if he was struck there instead. Likely an animation error that was left unfixed.
