Maibatsu Plaza, also spelt Maibatzu Plaza,[1] is a complex of buildings in the City Center of Cottonmouth that appears in Manhunt.

Description[]

The plaza is named after the recurring Japanese car manufacturer Maibatsu Corporation, known for the Monstrosity SUV mentioned throughout both the Manhunt and Grand Theft Auto series.

The site is consists up to six skyscrapers, four of which are unnamed and one is under construction by J.E.C. & Sons Construction. The Majestic Hotel and the Bright Shire Alliance company headquarters is located within the plaza, the latter being used as a front by The Project.

A statue of a human figure holding a boulder on his shoulder, reminscent of Lee Lawrie's Atlas statue.

Inspiration[]

The plaza appears to be a hybrid of central districts from multiple Southeastern US cities, with inspiration from New York City's Rockefeller Center as evidenced by the statue.

History[]

Events of Manhunt 2[]

During the night of the Pickman Bridge incident circa 2001, the Pickman Bridge research's main financial contributor Stanley Grex is assassinated by the test subject Daniel Lamb, under control of Leo Kasper's implanted personality. Daniel is referred to as the "Serial Killer from the Plaza" by the Cottonmouth Police Department while searching for him in the neighborhood of Wooddale.
