Media Personalities refers to celebrities, film actors, TV show hosts and other famous people mentioned throughout the Manhunt series. The majority of personalities are first established in Rockstar North's Grand Theft Auto series as part of the 3D Universe canon.

Aside from Lionel Starkweather, none of the celebrities play any role in the storyline of the Manhunt series, serving only as background Grand Theft Auto citations, either in posters or hunter voice lines.

As per Rockstar North's own rule, only this categorization of characters and other background characters can receive a full reboot in the HD Universe canon of the Grand Theft Auto series.[1][2]

List of Media Personalities[]

This list does not include "actors" from the Starkweather Quality Productions snuff film ring, nor Rockstar North developer names included in posters as Easter eggs.

...the “universes” are the worlds interpreted at different definitions, 2d, 3d and high definition, so we felt brands and radio / back ground characters would exist in both, but 3 dimensional characters would not. This is the logic (as far as it could be considered logical) behind it – so no, we don’t believe any GTA3 characters could exist in the GTA4 universe.

The Grand Theft Auto III timeline is not necessarily over - but it is a different world to Grand Theft Auto IV - only the branding and certain radio personalities exist across both worlds. The reason for this was that we felt Grand Theft Auto IV was a high-definition experience and required different kinds of characters. That - and the fact that most people from the previous world are dead.
