Manhunt Wiki

The official weapon of the CCPD (Carcer City Police Department). Whether in a crowd control or a routine traffic stop, the Carcer City police aren't shy when it comes to using their nightsticks. Check out the "Carcer City Riot" to see this weapon used by real pros.

The Nightstick[1][2] is a blue class weapon in Manhunt and Manhunt 2.

Description[]

Manhunt[]

The Nightstick is a law enforcement riot-control T-Baton, believed to be based on the Monadnock PR-24. In direct confrontations against hunters, it is great for truncheoning them, but during stealth, it serves just as well any weapon in executing hunters as well as knocking on any walls to produce noises that alert and lure hunters.

Because of its length and weight, the player can swing a Nightstick around a corner (whether they're standing or crouching) while pressed against cover to attack an incoming hunter. The move can only be done at the edge of a corner where the player's weapon will be raised up when facing left or held at chest level if facing right, both of which have no effect on gameplay. If the attack successfully lands on a hunter, it will stun them for approximately 3 seconds. Doing this on a low health hunter will knock them to the floor for approx. 5 seconds if they survive the hit. While stunned in the idle or suspicious states, the hunter may be briefly locked on to for a quick execution, but in the alerted state, they cannot be locked on to for executions (the player will simply assume a combat stance instead as if the player were still spotted) until this brief interval after they stand up and recover from the stun before spotting the player if they aren't hiding. The player can only exploit this if they stand away from them in a certain distance.

Manhunt 2[]

Apart from being a melee weapon, execution tool, and noise maker when knocking on surfaces, the Nightstick can still be swung around a corner to stun enemies. The ability to execute them while they are stunned is gone, because the target is knocked down to the ground instead. However, the target can be executed in the short amount of time after they stand up and recover, but only if they stand away from them in a certain distance, just like the first game. Otherwise, the player may beat the downed target, killing them if they're low on health. If the target is still healthy however, they will stand up even if the player is in the middle of hitting them.

Manhunt[]

Note: The Nightstick shares execution animations with the Blackjack.

Type Execution Description
Hasty

The player grabs the target's shoulder and turns them towards him, exposing their front side that he can hit the windpipe with the nightstick. This causes the target to choke and slowly fall to their knees as the player kills them by bludgeoning their head thrice.
Violent

The player whips the nightstick down on the target's occiput, forcing them to their knees. The player then strangles them using the nightstick while planting his knee on their back before pulling it back to break their neck.
Gruesome

The player smacks at the target's occiput twice, the second hit forcing them to face him. The player then strangles the target with a guillotine choke before pulling their body up to break their neck.

The player delivers a flurry of bludgeons starting with smacking his nightstick across the target's occiput twice and a downward blow to the head, causing them to kneel on one leg. The player whips the other leg thrice, forcing them to lie on the ground, and attempts to hit their head thrice, but the downed target guards it with his arms which are hit instead before they go limp. The player then raises his nightstick and pauses for a while before hitting their head twice, breaking their skull apart. Appearances[]

Manhunt

Despite weapons in “Press Coverage” (like the Crowbar and the Sniper Rifle) being able to be brought into the next scene “Wrong Side of the Tracks” to be used, the Nightstick cannot be brought to that mission. If the player attempts this, they will start the next scene without any Blue class weapons.

  • Road to Ruin (Cutscene only. Used by two Cerberus to beat up Cash into submission)
  • Fuelled By Hate (Cutscene only. Wielded by a Cerberus approaching Cash to back him up towards another Cerberus who chokes him unconscious)
  • Mouth of Madness (Cutscene only. Wielded by two Cerberus dragging Cash's unconscious body to the scene's starting area)
  • Press Coverage (Wielded and dropped by two cops in the tunnel and one cop outside the Journalist's flat. They will swap them for revolvers if they see Cash killing a cop or evidence of him doing so)

Trivia[]

Manhunt[]

  • A Nightstick can be seen on the utility belt of every CCPD officer. It is purely cosmetic, however, and the player cannot use or interact with it in any way.

Manhunt 2[]

  • In Awakening, Dixmor Hospital orderlies can be seen fighting inmates with Nightsticks behind locked gates. They cannot be reached and the Nightstick cannot be obtained in this episode in normal ways.
