Personality Clash is the fifteenth and final episode in Manhunt 2, taking place inside Daniel Lamb's mind in a distorted version of the Weary Pines Cemetery in Cottonmouth.
Plot Summary[]
Daniel finds out what happened to his wife and, with the assistance of Whyte now “directing” him in his head, attempts to make peace with his sins and purge Leo from his mind forever.
Episode[]
Introduction[]
After helping Daniel remember the night of the Pickman Bridge malfunction, moments before his amnesia, Daniel is still reluctant of leaving Leo behind, especially after he saved his life multiple times.
Dr. Whyte hands over a folder containing a picture of Daniel's old residence, where he used to live with his family. Whyte informs that his kids are safe and sound, although his house was torched under Doctor Pickman's orders after the incident. Daniel asks Whyte if his wife is also safe.
After a short silence, Whyte decides to show him footage from the security cameras confiscated from Daniel's house before it was burned down. Daniel is horrified by the footage, showing himself stabbing his wife multiple times with a kitchen knife while under control of Leo, and finally realizing Leo's real intentions to weaken Daniel's grip on reality to the point where Leo could take complete control of his mind.
Upon learning the truth, Daniel determines that he must destroy Leo once and for all. He enters a deep hypnotic state and faces off against Leo within the confines of his own mind.
Cemetery[]
While in deep hypnotic state, Dr. Whyte assists Daniel and directs him in his own head. Leo creates a distorted reality version of the Weary Pines Cemetery in Daniel's head in order to cause further guilt on him for the killings he committed.
Leo manifests himself in Daniel's mind, armed with a crowbar, and begins hunting him down throughout the cemetery. Daniel finds a syringe and uses it execute Leo's manifestation silently, weaking his hold over his mind. Daniel acquires Leo's crowbar and uses it to open the gates of the crypt.
Crypt[]
Heading down to the crypt, Leo forces Daniel's mind to remember all of his recent victims. Daniel must face several ghastly apparitions of deceased Watchdogs, silently roaming around the crypt looking for him. Determined to kill Leo, Daniel executes all of the Watchdogs without hesitation.
Daniel eventually finds his way out of the crypt, leading him to a different area of the cemetery.
Familiar Faces[]
Leo forces Daniel's mind to create apparitions of his former Project colleagues Doctor Pickman and Michael Grant to hunt him down throughout the mausoleums of the cemetery.
Daniel executes both of them without showing any remorse, showing his determination to weaken Leo's power over his own mind.
Crypt[]
Using the crowbar, Daniel opens another passage to an underground crypt in one of the mausoleums. Leo manifests more of Daniel's Watchdog victims, now armed with guns.
Guilt-Free[]
After leaving the crypt alive, Leo manifests Daniel's wife in his own mind and kills her once again, in a last effort to weaken Daniel's grip on his own mind. However, Daniel hears the voice of his wife on his mind, telling him he shouldn't blame himself for her death. She wishes Daniel to put her to rest and move on with his life.
Leo manifests himself multiple times, in a last attempt to stop Daniel from asserting control of his own mind. Daniel manages to make his way through Leo and open the locked gates of the cemetery, before carrying his wife's body to a grave marked with the Project's logo and finally laying her to rest.
As Leo slowly approaches Daniel as he is burying his wife, Daniel angrily hits Leo with his shovel multiple times. He is finally able to let go of the guilt he feels over his wife's death, allowing him to kill Leo and assert control, which he succeeds.
A New Start[]
Daniel awakens on a deserted road with his memory erased once more. He is holding an envelope informing him that his name is "David Joiner", providing him with a new home address at 526 Hope Street, Apartment B, and wishing him luck. Daniel briefly hesitates before walking away.
