Ramirez is a main character appearing as the secondary antagonist in Manhunt.
History[]
Background[]
Little is known about Ramirez's life prior to the events of Manhunt. Based on his position as the leader of the Wardogs gang, it is presumed that he is an army veteran.
At some point before the events of the game in 2003, he came into contact with Lionel Starkweather and participated in at least one scene, Let's Play "Ramirez Sez",[1] before being promoted to a sort of lieutenant position in Starkweather's operation.
Events of Manhunt[]
Ramirez first appears during the intro cutscene of White Trash. This scene establishes him as a feared leader figure, as he faces the white supremacist Skinz gang alone and brutally kills one of them at the first hint of disrespect. Ramirez insults the gang members and pushes them around while commanding them to prepare for Cash's arrival at the scene's setting in Dentons City Junkyard.
Ramirez's next appearance is during the intro cutscene of Grounds for Assault. This time he is shown commanding his men, the Wardogs, with army-like discipline, rallying and encouraging them before Cash's manhunt in the Carcer City Zoo.
Ramirez's third appearance in View of Innocence is once again exclusive to the scene's intro cutscene. In this instance he is shown commanding the drugged up and mentally disabled violent Innocentz, ordering them into their positions before Cash arrives in East Los Albos.
Ramirez's fourth appearance is in the outro cutscene for Kill the Rabbit, where he is seen taking a walk in an alleyway before Starkweather contacts him via an earpiece and blames him for letting Cash escape Darkwoods Penitentiary. Starkweather orders Ramirez to go after Cash with Ramirez only nodding in acceptance, displaying his loyalty and respect to the Director.
Ramirez's final appearance is during Divided They Fall, in which he is the central target. Along with several of his men, he catches Cash off-guard entering a courtyard behind an abandoned apartment complex, then proceeds to beat him up and strip him of his weapons before making him run and hide from them. Ramirez then lets three of his men out into the courtyard to look for Cash and finish him off before retreating to room on the top floor of an apartment building in the corner of the courtyard.
To Ramirez's dismay, Cash kills all hunters Ramirez throws at him and manages to enter the apartment building, where he shoots his way to the top. Realizing the impending danger, Ramirez attempts to escape, but Cash chases him down to the courtyard, where, having cornered Ramirez in a final shootout, Cash kills him and escapes.

Trivia[]
- Ramirez is the only hunter in the game who the player isn't able to execute. When “executing” Ramirez, Cash will perform a chokehold on him before raising his weapon up to strike, regardless if it looks inappropriate for the weapon he's wieldng, like a Plastic Bag or a Wire. However, Ramirez quickly swings his right arm behind him to hit Cash, breaking free of his hold to taunt him.
- Ramirez may be inspired by the real-life serial killer Richard Ramirez. Besides borrowing his last name, the former's implied military background was also borrowed from the serial killer who was taught skills in jungle warfare by his older cousin Miguel Ramirez, a Vietnam War veteran and a Green Beret who was just as violent. Richard would apply these skills that he learned to become the serial killer that he became during the early 80s in the USA.
