Strapped for Cash is the seventh scene in Manhunt.
Plot Summary[]
Cash battles the last of the crazed Wardogs remaining at the zoo, while doing his best to rescue his abducted siblings along the way.
Scene[]
The First Area[]
Each time Cash gets spotted near a sibling, they will be executed.
As Cash advances into the second half of the zoo, the director reveals that the Wardogs have kidnapped Cash's family and are now holding them on zoo grounds, intending to use them as bait. Cash must thus advance with increased carefulness, as the Wardogs will execute a sibling as soon as they spot Cash nearby.
Starting from the area where the previous scene concluded, Cash passes a small locker room, then goes outside and finds his first sibling guarded by an armed Wardog in a nearby store room. Continuing onwards, he passes a tightly guarded gorilla enclosure and finds another sibling guarded by two Wardogs. Cash then passes a tunnel and goes up a small hill, then past some gates, thus advancing into this territory's second half.
Opening the Shark's Mouth[]

Cash continues onwards and enters a small cafeteria, where he finds his third kidnapped sibling guarded by yet another Wardog. After smashing a window to enter the next area, he receives directions from Starkweather, who implies that Cash must head for the shark's mouth by the monkey dome, a little ways from the cafeteria he just left.
Navigating through the Wardog patrolled area and passing another gorilla enclosure, Cash makes his way to the monkey dome where his final sibling is being held.
Inside the Shark's Mouth[]
Starkweather sarcastically comments on Cash's performance and tells him the shark's mouth is open.
After Cash fails or succeeds in rescuing at least one family member, the director opens the closed gate in the shark's mouth and releases two more Wardogs to guard it. Entering the shark's mouth, Cash finds himself in what appears to be a waterlife enclosure. Circling around an emptied pool and dealing with two hunters along the way, Cash makes his way to a souveneir shop and opens the fire exit door, which he then uses to escape the zoo.
Outro[]
Cerberus apprehending Cash.
Just like the previous times Cash left a shooting location, the Cerberus arrive to apprehend him, only this time Cash gives up without a fight and is taken into the Securicar peacefully with one of the soldiers making an annoyed comment about Cash's persistent survival.

- The scene's title "Strapped for Cash" is a common idiom, meaning that one is lacking money or "broke". It's a double reference to Cash's abducted family members being tied to wooden crosses and left for him to find and rescue as well as the Wardogs being mercenaries.
- According to the game files, Cash's relatives in this scene are his father, mother, brother and sister.[3] There is, however, also unused text for Starkweather directing Cash, wherein he refers to the last sibling found in the monkey dome as "one of [Cash's] sisters", implying that both women are his sisters, not just one.[4]
