TV-MK Studios is a television studio in Manhunt 2.

Description[]

Television programs like 5 Past High Noon, Frankie and the Freaks, The Terry Helmut Show, a music talent program[1] and a news together with the weather channels are filmed in the studios. There is a parking garage and an elevator leading into it, and out of it. Behind the studio leading outside the garage there is a studio back lot which is on a farm, used for filming 5 Past High Noon.

History[]

Circa 2001[]

The Project use the TV-MK Channel to control their test subjects, as shown in the final cutscene of Domestic Disturbance, where Dr. Pickman commands Daniel Lamb that he will not remember that he was there, in which he goes to sit down on his couch to watch the TV-MK channel [source needed].

Circa 2007[]

In Ghosts, Daniel has a violent hallucination about the TV-MK channel (and notably; Dr. Pickman's voice), when he enters the room inside his house with the televisions piled together.

Weeks after Pickman's death, Leo infiltrates a Project-owned TV-MK studio and massacres the agents posing as TV crews to clear the area. He and Danny scour the studio for leads on the Project they can follow to set them free while “finding his past” amongst the records. Danny eventually gives up, frustrating Leo who urges him to push on so that they can find what they need. However, a tape recording by Dr. Whyte prompts them to look for her, but they are interrupted by the Bloodhounds who enter the studio to claim their bounty. Danny shoots his way out of the TV studio until the area is clear of any mercenaries. Throughout the search, Daniel also states that he "used to watch that channel."

Beta[]

According to Steve "Josimar" Walsh's portfolio website, [2] TV-MK were originally named "MK-TV", possibly more reference to the real life program MKUltra. There was going to be an additional TV-MK program named That BITCH Next Door!. Various TV-MK and their program logos can also be seen.

Trivia[]

  • In the Kids TV Studio, the White Rabbit from Manhunt appears hanging by a microphone dead from the ceiling, as well another White Rabbit's head on a stick. This could be only the developers reusing models from the previous games, similar to the Gasoline Can.
  • Killing in specific studios will cause background sounds to emit. For example, silly cartoon sounds in Kids Studio, and a crowd cheering, clapping, or booing in the Sitcom Studio.
