The Asylum Staff are a hunter group in Manhunt 2. They are the first hunters the player faces in the game.
Background[]
They are nurses and staff who work at Dixmor Hospital, and given by their lines of dialogue, they seem to love their job when it comes to beating up inmates. It is shown that they mock, taunt, and even physically abuse them.
When looking for Danny, the Staff will usually try to persuade him to stop hiding, saying that they are only there to help and even offering him chocolate and extra dessert, which showcases them belittling mentally ill people, treating them like children.[1][2]
According to a speech by a orderly, each of them has their own work "Zones", one of them can be heard asking why the other is in his sector and even telling him to return to his own sector.[3][4]

Events of Manhunt 2[]
Circa 2001[]
- Main article: Domestic Disturbance
Around the year 2001 during an unknown date at 12:51 AM,[5] after the murder of Mrs. Lamb in her own residence by her own husband Daniel Lamb, Dr. Pickman and the Asylum Staff arrive at the scene and witness Danny staring at and standing over his wife's corpse. Dr. Pickman then commands him to forget everything that happened before he spoke to him and forget that the Project was in his house (causing Danny to drop the knife), before commanding him to never speak to Leo again. Danny robotically moves towards the couch and sits down to watch static on the television.
Pickman remarks on the effectiveness of the experiment before ordering the staff who were accompanying him to take Daniel Lamb away to the asylum, remove the planted cameras around his house, and burn down the house to destroy all evidence of the Project's presence.
Circa 2007[]
- Main article: Awakening
Six years after the murder of Daniel's wife, the staffs are seen again operating the asylum at night where he is admitted. They are seen doing their jobs: transporting an inmate on a gurney, medicating an inmate with a needle, etc. Suddenly, a lightning bolt strikes the asylum, causing a brief power outage that startles a pair of orderlies in a control room. However, the power outage also causes the security system to go offline, opening the cell doors throughout the facility. The two men notice it through the camera feeds and one of them tells the other to get help.
Meanwhile, the Orderly who was treating an inmate earlier in his cell leaves and is ambushed by two inmates who beat him down. The one who stayed in the control room realizes that Dr. Whyte is still inside the “psycho section” during the riot where she was nearly choked to death by an agitated Danny while she was trying to inject him. Danny gets back to his senses and escapes the cell with the help of Leo who guides him to a way out of the asylum. As Danny goes around the asylum, he can find orderlies beating up inmates with nightsticks and unlucky staff being beaten by inmates. Regardless, he kills and evades many staff to escape the asylum, never seeing them again.
