- “Take me for instance: one hundred percent pure American psycho!”
The Fox is a member of the Wardogs gang in Manhunt. He is named as such because he calls himself one.[1]
Background[]
This Wardog is a cruel and gung-ho alpha male with a mean streak running straight through him. Besides his personality, not much is known about him other than him playing football.[2] He is part of the other half of the Wardogs gang who aren't poachers since nothing about him implies that he is one.
Personality and Mannerisms[]
- He is utterly cruel and sadistic, deriving gratification from dominating his victims while hurting them.[3][4] He is proud of this,[5] regardless of any criticisms thrown at him about it,[6] and sees nothing wrong with it.[7] Also, he is gung-ho when it comes to killing people.[6][8]
- He is hypermasculine, an overly macho person. Some of his standards for being manly include playing sports (like football)[2] and going toe to toe.[9]
- He has a high tolerance for pain compared to other hunters, not flinching or submitting to any of Cash's attacks in close quarters.[10]
- He is nonchalant and callous to finding dead comrades.[11][12][13] The only time he's emotional about this is when he swears revenge.[14][15][16]
- He claims he would rather do stuff by himself, although he insists he be spectated in his work by his comrades, likely a bluff so that he can call for help.[17]
- As his name implies, he claims that he is a cunning person who is also able to see through other people's tricks.[1][18]
- He has a habit of talking to himself, which he tries to cut.[19]
- As a member of the Wardogs, a group of “veterans” of the Vietnam War, he hates communists.[20]
- He has the generic hunter personality found throughout Manhunt, but with a few additions/differences as what seems to be a sadistic macho man.
- He can get annoyed during times of inactivity in the manhunt, seeing how he planned to try his cruel moves on tonight's runner.[21]
- Once he's beaten down by Cash, he will accept his defeat[22] and urge him to finish him,[23][24][25] mocking him if he feels he can't do it.[26] He may also apologize.[27]
Relationships[]
With the Wardogs[]
All in all, he is nasty and unfriendly to the Wardogs. Rather than greeting other hunters, he is rude to them[28] and he meanly pushes them to look out for their runner.[29][30] He thinks the Wardogs are “pussies” because they do not fall under his standards and believes that they will die for that.[8][31] He doesn't care less about his dead comrades[11] and possibly wants to sacrifice liabilities in the Wardogs as runners for him to kill as a challenge.[32]
With Valiant Video and the manhunt[]
He finds the manhunt fun and sees nothing wrong with it.[7] He also knows that he is being recorded by cameras during the hunt, which he hopes will record the runner's slow death, not knowing that they're for his...[4]
With Cash[]
Likely derived from the Director or another organizer of his snuff movies, this Wardog has info on Cash being mentally ill, thus, he calls him a freak.[33][34] After killing Cash, he'll gladly harvest his remains for trophies with the other hunters.[35]
The painful stuff that he hopes to try upon Cash includes:[36] snapping his fragile neck,[37] knocking him down with just a punch that also breaks his jaw,[38] mutilating his face before breaking his ribs,[39] dislocating his kneecaps,[40] and breaking his ankles so that he can watch him crawl pathetically.[41]
