This is all for your benefit, gimp boy. We're all gonna give you a little surprise party.
— Wardog on his sinister plans for Cash

The Killer Dog is a member of the Wardogs gang in Manhunt. He is named as such because he is a killer[1] and he calls himself a “dog” sometimes, him being a Wardog and all.[2]

Background[]

A serial killer[1] with more than one kill beneath his belt and tallied with chalk,[3] this Wardog not only hunts humans and animals for trophies, but he's also a poacher who has a taste for human flesh just as he does with animal meat, planning to either “barbeque” or oven-roast Cash.[4][5]

Personality and Mannerisms[]

  • Among the Wardogs gang, he has assumed the position of a commander to his fellow Wardogs (albeit he is still subordinate to Ramirez) without anyone's authority.
    • He is often heard barking orders to his teammates, usually in a loud voice that would allow him to be heard by others.[6][7]
    • He encourages teamwork between hunters, ordering them to call for backup when spotting Cash or respond to calls for backup rather than going solo.[8][9]
    • This Wardog can he heard sharing his tactics with other hunters, such as digging advantageous foxholes with kill zones within the hunting grounds.[10]
    • He is self-aware that his tendency to shout commands at his fellow hunters sounds annoying.[11]
  • This Wardog is truly aligned with the proverb “Live by the sword, die by the sword” as he accepts being murdered by Cash after being beaten in combat.[12]
  • He uses an unorthodox CQC tactic where he lets an enemy strike him to bring them closer to him, so that he can land his strikes when they get close enough.[13][14][15]
  • Has the generic hunter personality, which includes the following:
    • He feels very confident that he and his gang will kill Cash in the end, this confidence in this result being a gut feeling that he has.[16]
    • He is a sadist. After killing Cash, he will feel a sensation that he calls a “kill-gasm” run through his whole body, probably a frisson.[17]
    • Living a violent and bloody life, this Wardog has a pain tolerance. He feels that Cash's hits are not the worse ones he's felt,[18] but once he's hurt enough, he'll admit that he isn't supposed to handle CQBs, proving that he has never undergone official military training let alone any official military service.[19]

Relationships[]

With the Wardogs[]

He is friendly with the Wardogs, greeting each hunter he meets.[20][21] Sometimes, he may order them around when he meets them.[22] He may be heard keeping other hunters alert[23][24] as well as encouraging teamwork instead of going solo in the manhunt by telling them to respond to any hunters calling for backup and telling them to immediately call for backup when spotting Cash instead of taking him alone.[8][9]

With Valiant Video and the manhunt[]

This Wardog takes the hunt for Cash (which he calls a surprise party[25][26]) seriously via being vigilant and thorough in sweeping the place for Cash.[27] He joined this manhunt just to get another kill and add to his kill count.[3]

With Cash[]

Likely derived from the Director, or another organizer of his snuff movies, this Wardog has info on Cash being mentally ill. Thus, he calls him a freak.[16][28] He has nothing but a dark malice planned for him;[25][26][29] and once he's got him, he may take his head,[30] cook him for food,[4][5] or flay him.[31] That being said, he's careful when facing Cash.[32]

He has an inconsistent fix on Cash's whereabouts, sometimes feeling that he is still in the hunting grounds even without seeing any sign of him[33] or being unable to tell if he is still around or if he has evaded and left them.[34] Compare this to Wardog 2's instincts telling him that Cash is surely around and stalking him.

Since he calls the manhunt for Cash a surprise party,[25][26] he sometimes calls Cash its guest.[35][36]
