The Orphan Maker is a member of the Innocentz gang in Manhunt.

Background

Unlike his fellow skull-visaged crazies who are Mexicans, this Innocent is a young American man, judging by his voice. Among the four known Skullyz, he has a high amount of faith in dark occult beliefs, such as worshipping entities who embody evil and darkness and believing in hell and damnation. Despite this strong belief, he may renounce these beliefs immediately in the face of dying to Cash that he may spare his life. Overall, he is a situational edgelord.

The entities that the so-called “Orphan Maker” believes in include malevolent shadows, clairvoyant voices and his “Keeper of Pain” whom he listens to for guidance. He also mentions a being with “fetid arms” who will claim the lives of those who have died, although, this might refer to Cash himself with the odor he has accumulated. He also believes in a being with black wings who will reveal themselves to those who are exhausted, possibly a fallen angel like Satan himself.

To compliment the grim personality that he assumes to intimidate others, he professes himself as someone who is at one with darkness, proclaiming to be a creature who's at his element in the dark. He also believes that he embodies Satan.

Personality and Mannerisms

• As a member of the mostly horror-themed Innocentz gang, this hunter has a creepy and disturbing personality. This makes him appear menacing and grim.
  • To scare his prey, this Innocent may speak in a singsong voice. Combined with the sinister things he says in this voice, he may seem scary to others.
  • While assuming his creepy personality, he often uses figurative and poetic language to sound like a cheesy horror villain. He seems to be fond of saying the word “whisper” to make things creepy and supernatural.
  • In spite of all this, he doesn't talk like a villain all the time. He can be heard talking normally while bored and alone, frustrated, near death, or startled.
• The Orphan Maker is a sadomasochist, probably because of his connection to the Keeper of Pain.
• He is a very spiritual person, albeit the evil kind. He believes in the existence of the soul and other related concepts, such as hell and ghosts.
• He is also a cannibal. Plus he does drugs to get high.
• Besides the above, he does have parts of the generic hunter personality, like being bored while idle or frustrated when losing Cash.

Relationships

With the Innocentz

Even amongst each other, the Innocentz are ill-disposed and unfriendly. There is high tension between members as shown when this Skully threatens to kill another Innocent when he meets one, unlike most hunters who usually greet each other if they're not the unfriendly type.

For some reason, this Innocent will say “Where are you?” or wake up others in a singsong voice when meeting another Innocent, much like Skully #4. These two probably do this to scare fellow gang members as part of their creepy or horror gimmick, just like when this one does evil laughs or asserts himself as the devil.

That being said, he may greet another Innocent by imitating dog sounds. It's unknown what he's trying to express with these.

With Valiant Video and the manhunt

While idle, he may complain about the position given to him to look out for their runners. He joined the manhunt to satisfy his cannibalistic desires.

With Cash

The Orphan Maker frequently calls Cash a weakling angel. He also thinks he is impure, hence, he will damn him through death. Despite all this spooky talk about Cash being an angel whom he'll kill, he may liken his speed to that of the devil's.

Like all hunters who participate in Starkweather's manhunt, he has no clue on who Cash is.

Trivia

• One of his idle lines where he chooses between something that is blue and another that's red may be a reference to the The Matrix movie's blue pill and red pill.
• Just like Skully #3, this hunter is an inferior version of another Innocent who is similar to him. It seems that he tries to emulate Skully #4 (having similar lines and all that stuff) who is a cultist with a belief in evil and supernatural stuff that is so firm it pervades his entire life until his death, but instead, this hunter is an edgy person who will easily shed his beliefs in certain circumstances (almost as if it was just a character that he assumes to look cool), like being bored while idle or being near death.
  • Compared to Skully #4, the Orphan Maker's beliefs and personality are not supported or reflected by the life he lives. Skully #4 is the son of a prostitute, which may have led to him growing into the cultist killer that he is now due to the hardships associated with growing up as the son of a sex worker. Whereas the Orphan Maker may have not lived a hard life himself, so what he believes isn't as genuine as Skully #4's beliefs.
  • He's the only skully who's so much addict to drugs
