- “The Skinz are an archetypas neo-Nazi white power gang. Overall, they tend to work as baboon packs, and are very aggressive and willing to attack rashly. They partake in the hunt mostly for the sadistic violence. The Skinz are disorderly, boisterous, and reckless.”
The Skinz are a hunter gang in Manhunt. They are the second gang the player encounters in the game.
Background[]
Named after their skinhead culture, the Skinz are a Southern American hate group whose ideologies encompass a vast spectrum of white supremacist beliefs, which includes beliefs that are neo-Confederate,[1][2][3] socially conservative,[4][5] anti-immigrant,[6][7][8] Aryanist,[9][10] far-right[11] and Christian Identitiarian.[12][13] The Skinz carry out their very own political agenda by shouting hate speech and committing acts of brutal violence, be it against perceived anti-whites, mixed-race or nonwhite people or anyone simply at the wrong place at the wrong time. The Skinz are very diverse in their vitriolic hatreds but nonetheless do everything in pursuit of their vision of a purely white America.
Valiant Video's Winter / Spring Catalogue identifies the Skinz' signature art of killing runners as a brutal gang beating. For instance, six Skinz chase down their prey to a corner where they trap this fear-soaked wretch. The Skinz proceed to quickly bludgeon this runner to death while expressing their vitriol, venom and rancor with harsh language. The audience seems to take pleasure in watching the Skinz get angry over the fact that they didn't take their time with their unlucky victims.[14]
Members[]
Some of the Skinz mention that they are from the Southern American states.[15][16] According to one of the Skinz, the gang is disorganized and leaderless.[17]
Although a majority of the Skinz appear to have had deep beliefs of White Supremacy engraved into their lives, one of the members seems to have pressured themselves into being more radical, according to their random dialogues[18] and their notable faltering of their "persona"[19] during the hunt. [20][21]
According to one of the Skinz, there are rumors of members having scandalous affairs that compromise their beliefs by consorting with non-white women.[22]
- Notable Members
- Skin 1 - Stonewall (Named after the Confederate General Stonewall Jackson, as he displays the most Confederate tendencies out of all of the Skinz)
- Skin 2
- Skin 3 - Preacher Man (Pretty obvious due to his dialogue)
- Skin 4
- Skin 5 - The Scalper (Named due to his dialogue mentioning scalping)
- Skin 6

Relationships[]
With Valiant Video and the manhunt[]
Before the events of Manhunt, the Skinz had several gigs with Valiant Video Enterprises in the snuff films Hittin the Skinz’, Skinz Skillz: Tactics 101, and White Trash Bash. They seem to be a favorite among Valiant Video members because all of their films are rated 5 stars, including their recent film White Trash.[23]
Lionel Starkweather hates everything about the Skinz with a passion, which he expresses in a rant that players can hear in Fuelled By Hate.[24] Although he's pleased with just about anyone's death on tape, he feels a special satisfaction for the deaths of the Skinz.[25][26][27][28] Just like what he did to the previous Hoods gang, the Director made easier for Cash his survival in the manhunt by compromising the positions of specific Skinz for Cash to exploit.[29][30][31]
Enemies[]
Unused dialogue suggests that the Hoods and the Innocentz are their rivals. All three gangs have unused voicelines where they're in contention with their territories. Also, the three gangs were supposed to dispute over claiming Cash's life in Starkweather's manhunt.
History[]
Events of Manhunt[]
White Trash[]
- Main article: White Trash
The Skinz are first seen in the intro of White Trash where they are getting drunk just beside a trailer in their turf, the Dentons City Junkyard. Ramirez approaches the throng of Aryans who are slacking off, before they stop their drinking session to gang up on the non-white in front of them. One of them stands off with him and laughs, but before he could do any malice, Ramirez gets ahead of him as he grasps his skull and lifts him up before twisting his neck, somehow sobering the drunkards and intimidating them. He then walks over the body and pushes them around as he tells them to move out for Starkweather's snuff film. The Skinz can be heard cheering afterwards, but some of them can be seen looking at each other, probably confused by what happened a while ago.
Meanwhile, Cash is dropped off by the Cerberus at one of the entrances to the junkyard. He gets up to his feet and is immediately spoken to by the Director who admits that he broke his promise to set him free after killing the Hoods, but he believes that Cash is having fun regardless. He then instructs him to find and enter a double gate that will lead to the next area, where he faces the Skinz gang. Cash then finds what seems to be the exit gates, but he is informed by the Director that it is closed with an electric lock that must be unlocked by a release switch. Cash finds it (and a few Skinz on the way) and turns it on before going back to the opened gate to enter the next area.
Fuelled By Hate[]
- Main article: Fuelled By Hate
Cash enters the second area of the junkyard in Fuelled By Hate while the Director rants in his ear about his contempt for the Skinz before being fervently told to do his worst to the Skinz. He does so with the patrolling Skinz in a small area, which earns him the Director's praise and the gate in that area being unlocked. Cash proceeds through and offs many Skinz on his way out of the junkyard with the help of several magnetic cranes that he refueled and used to remove certain obstructions (and perhaps murder some Skinz with heavy domestic appliance) on his way out. The gang is never seen or heard of again after this.
Scenes of Appearance[]
The Skinz are second to the CCPD SWAT in having the least scene appearances.

Trivia[]
- The word “skin” is a shortened version of “skinhead” which is what the gang is composed of, hence they are called the Skinz.
- Various hate symbols were used as Skinz' iconography, all of which were modified as part of Rockstar Games setting boundaries on what they can depict in Manhunt.
- Some Skinz have red flags with a white circle containing a symbol on their clothing or as tattoos. This resembles the flag of Nazi Germany.
- Some Skinz also have tattoos of crosses that look like the Iron Cross. Although it wasn't a hate symbol at first, but rather a Prussian military decoration, it was once adopted by the Nazis who placed a swastika on the cross's center to distinguish it as a Nazi symbol and eventually a modern hate symbol.
- SkiB1A and SkiB1B have tattoos of an eagle, an animal commonly used in the symbols of Fascist, Nazi, and white supremacist groups, such as the Reichsadler.
- SkiS1A has a tattoo of an upright clenched fist on his left bicep, a possible reference to the Aryan Fist.
- SkiS1A also has a tattoo of an encircled boot. Steel-toed work boots are a common symbol among all sorts of skinheads, thus they can be found as their tattoos.
- SkiS1B has a tattoo that says “100%” on his right wrist. This stands for “100% White” or a hundred percent of anything white, which represents their utter purity.
- SkiS1C has a tattoo resembling the Norse Algiz rune on his right forearm. The rune in this context symbolizes life, creation, birth, renewal, etc. and was used by the Nazis in a SS project known as Lebensborn that had the goal of increasing the “Aryan” population through means of allowing Aryan women to give birth to worthy Aryan offspring among other methods, but eventually the project's means extended to kidnapping foreign children whom the Nazis deemed “Aryan” to be raised in German homes. Because of its association with the Nazis, it was used as a hate symbol long after the Nazis' fall.
- In contrast to the use of modified hate symbols as Skinz iconography, some Skinz have “NP FO” and “FIRST TO GO” on their clothing or as tattoos. These are references to the song Nazi Punks Fuck Off by the band Dead Kennedys, the lyrics referenced being its titular chorus and “In a real Fourth Reich you'll be the first to go!”
- The signature hockey masks of the Skinz were originally used by the Jury gang. The Jury were scrapped during development, but Rockstar thought that they could not drop the classic killer design of the hockey mask in their first horror game, so this design was given to the Skinz gang.[32]
- Apart from being on the cover of Manhunt, SkiM1A was also used to represent Mr. Nasty as some sort of avatar.[33][34]
- SkiM1A actually uses the textures of beta Cash, as comparing the texture of the "dead" Cash corpses and this particular Skinz member will reveal he reuses his textures, with his eyes being the most noticeable similarity.
