The Watchdogs are a hunter group in Manhunt 2. They are the first gang the player encounters in the game.
Description[]
The Watchdogs, along with the Bloodhounds, are highly trained hitmen hired by Dr. Pickman to capture Daniel Lamb and Leo Kasper. Similar to the Bloodhounds, their name relates to dogs.

Events of Manhunt 2[]
=Circa 2001[]
At 10:58 PM, during the night of the Project's biggest failure, Daniel and Leo infiltrate a series of storage facilities adjacent to the Watkins Trainyard to initiate their "Ritual Cleansing" whereby they plan to erase the Project's records on them and assume new identities. They find their way to a Cortexa storage facility where they manage to burn one of their files. The warehouse's fire alarms trigger as a result, alerting a squad of Watchdogs armed with stun prods, who quickly drive to the facility where Leo's files are at to capture him. The psycho duo (in reality just Leo who talked to Danny in Danny's mind) kills the squad and their deaths are reported to Dr. Pickman by Dr. Whyte in an e-mail he requested.[1]
=Circa 2007[]
Following Daniel and Leo's Awakening from the Dixmor Mental Hospital, the Watchdogs are dispatched once again to capture them in the town. They arrive like Ghosts at the first place they assume the killer pair escaped to at the Wooddale Community Enclave where Danny's old house is and prepare the area for their arrival and capture. However, the ill-prepared and poorly equipped hunters patrolling the house are killed by Danny who needs to clear the area so that he can take the drug that Leo told him in safety would help them.
The Watchdogs manage to track down Daniel once again in a Red Light district. A lone Watchdog with a nightstick has taken up a position inside of a Velvet Glove adult store run by a lone Perv to ambush Danny. However, Leo will warn Lamb against entering the adult store, sensing that it is a setup. Regardless, Danny kills or evades this Watchdog, only to find that two more Watchdogs with batons have entered the store looking for him. After dealing with these two issues, he ascends the store to climb the bridge to the derelict theater, but there he is ambushed by gun-wielding Watchdogs. He evades them on his way to the theater, but he has not shaken them off his tail yet.
Once Danny takes everything he needs from his old Safe House, he prepares to escape the building. However, he runs into a vagrant who is running scared from unknown individuals before learning that the Watchdogs are in the building and killing all witnesses, including the homeless people in the decrepit building. Danny plows through the Watchdogs who are armed with revolvers and shotguns until he exits the building through the porn theater.
Danny's quest for his past brings him to the Bees Honey Pot where he must find Dr. Judy Sender once again to learn more about his past and his ill state. He enters the brothel and asks the receptionist for Judy, prompting him to go to the room at the back to pretend to call for her, actually calling the Project about Danny whom he finds suspicious. After giving them details, the Project responds that they will be arriving in 10 minutes and the receptionist cooperates with them to keep Danny busy until they arrive. He is killed or evaded as Danny goes through the brothel looking for Judy until he faces the Watchdogs once he goes to the basement, who remain as the sole hunters through the rest of the episode. Danny goes through them anyways on his way to Judy.
Having become the Most Wanted enemy to the Project who has hired the Bloodhounds to join the manhunt, Danny runs and guns through Cottonmouth until he arrives at the sewer system of an auto shop's garage where he eavesdrops on a Watchdog who's dealing with an uncooperative mechanic who thinks his presence and authority unwelcome while demanding his ID. The Watchdog kills him and reports to his team that Danny isn't in the area yet and continues searching. After dealing with this one, he will find the last group of hunters consisting of Watchdogs hoping to kill Lamb for good. Their hopes (and their lives) are crushed as Danny kills them all so that he can escape to the trainyard behind them.
Danny and Leo return to their Origins in a Project laboratory where Leo plans to capture Pickman alive. After killing a lone Watchdog and entering the building through a guard hut, a Watchdog reports the death of his comrade to Pickman before the latter asks if they are ready for their target's arrival. He confidently assures him that two squads are awaiting Danny if he arrives before Pickman tells him that he'll lock himself in the animal lab and orders them to bring Danny's head to him ASAP, if they can't capture him alive. They then fight Danny one last time, but they all fail to protect Pickman from him.
Their last appearance is in the final episode, Personality Clash, where they appear as the many ghosts of Danny's victims created by Leo in the former's mind to torment him with remorse. Their apparel in this episode is different from their real apparel - the Watchdog ghosts have their mouths stretched and wear a special type of red glasses.

Trivia[]
- One of the bald Watchdogs may greet another by saying "Agent 74!" As 74 is the opposite of 47, it is a reference to Agent 47 from the Hitman franchise.
