Trained to Kill is a mission in the Manhunt series featured as the 17th scene in Manhunt.
Plot Summary[]
Cash emerges from the subways that the last train has taken him to, but he finds the station swarming with cops and SWAT teams who are well aware of his danger level and thus heavily armed. Cash must go through them all to the reach the end of the trainyard, where something ominous awaits him.
Scene[]
Introduction[]
In a dark attic, the pigman from the intro of the earlier scene Grounds for Assault is seen wriggling out of his restraints and thrashing his chains around. After a few attempts, the pigman breaks free and escapes.
Reach the End of the Trainyard[]
Outside the Station[]
Cash starts out at the exit of the Carcer Line Subway Station in a tunnel. Ahead of him is a Wire and a trash bag that may drop a Bottle. Once he reaches the end of the tunnel, he will find a flight of stairs with a cop wielding a revolver at the top of it. His back is faced to the player, almost as if he's asking you to use the Wire that you found on him.
However, his other buddy with a revolver patrolling the parking area doesn't approve of that. The parking area has two police vans. The first and foremost van contains a bottle in its compartment, while the van behind it has Painkillers. In a shadow to the right of the exit gate in the parking lot, there is another Wire for the player to use. That being said, if Cash kills these cops stealthily, the cop from inside the station who wields a revolver will not be alerted and come here. Otherwise, he will join his fellow hunters to deal with whatever Cash was doing.
Inside the Station[]
The station houses four cops. The first one has a revolver and is glued to his position behind a bench where his sightline covers the first entrance to the station, allowing him to see anyone who gets in or out, provided that he is actually looking at the doorway. If Cash was stealthy, the cop who was mentioned earlier will be with him, patrolling the first hallway they're in. After dealing with these two, Cash is free to go down a short flight of stairs to the lower level.
Once Cash reaches the lower level, he will be immediately greeted by another cop with a revolver who is also glued to his position behind a bench where he can watch who descends the stairs in front of him. He will shoot Cash on sight with his six shooter and use the bench as cover. Cash can kill this cop or run past him to proceed to the areas behind him.
The cop mentioned earlier is guarding two areas. To his left are two doorways to a lower floor and to his right is the way to the train platform. The doorways lead to a lower floor with two connected hallways. The hallway on the left ends in a locked door where a Wooden Bat can be found, while the right hallway turns right after a short flight of stairs. Going down and turning right, the player will find a hallway where a cop with a revolver might be patrolling in and to the right side of said hallway is a dark basement containing an Ammo Clip (30).
When going to the right, Cash will find himself in a vestibule before moving outside to Platform 1. A lone SWAT officer with a Sub-Machine Gun is patrolling this area, who can be dealt with by any means possible. There are two vending machines that have a chance to drop a Can when shot. A Crowbar can be found in an alley adjacent to the locked gate to the trainyard. That being said, Cash breaks the lock on the gate and proceeds to the trainyard.
Train Yard 1[]
Just ahead of the gate is a Save Point placed in a shadowy area behind a train. This trainyard has a total of eight cops all armed with revolvers, six patrolling the area and two standing guard in a makeshift barricade made of boxes near the gates to the next trainyard. The two are standing close to a gas tank that can be shot to instantly kill them. Using the numerous shadows and accessible train cars as cover, Cash is able to kill or evade all the cops to get to the next area.
Before leaving the area, Cash can find some useful resources. A red train car contains a shadow to hide in, a Wire, a Can, and a bottle of Painkillers. A white train car that's longer than the others contains small shadows as well as another Wire, Can, and Painkillers. There is also a Bottle next to the cardboard boxes inside the car.
Train Yard 2[]
The next trainyard has a total of 8 cops who are all armed with Shotguns. Though deadly, they are actually disadvantaged due to the size of the trainyard forcing them to do either long ranged shooting which reduces their damage or run in close to the player they've spotted to shoot you, risking their lives by exposing them to you. Whatever method the player uses, Cash is able to kill or evade the police in this area so that he can get to the next trainyard. The gates to it are shut, however, forcing the player to take the ladder up the blue train on the rail going through the gate to the first trainyard to proceed. The last Save Point is located just in front of the top of the ladder.
Before the player can leave, they may take their time to find some valuable resources here. Facing the trainyards ahead of the first one, there is a Plastic Bag at the right corner next to the gate. There is a white train car positioned near a ramp that's found at the right side of the train yard where a Wire and an Ammo Clip (30) can be found. After jumping off the blue car with the ladder to reach the next red car, there is a bottle of Painkillers on top of the red car. After jumping off the red car to reach the next white car, the player can drop down a hatch on it to enter the car where a Sniper Rifle loaded with 3 shots can be found.
Train Yard 3[]
Cash can enter the third and final trainyard by jumping off of the roof of the train. There are six SWAT officers armed with SMGs, four are patrolling the area while two are watching over the locked gate at the end of this trainyard that the player must unlock and go through to finish the scene. Depending on the player, Cash kills the SWAT team by sniping them from above the train car or jumping in to kill them like a fox in a chicken coop. They may also be evaded with skill.
Once the area is clear, Cash can shoot down the lock or pry it open with a crowbar to unlock the gate. Speaking of crowbars, there is one that can be found at the very end of the trainyard, lying at the fourth rail to the right. With the gate unlocked, Cash goes through it in a cutscene, seemingly earning his freedom. However, there was a SWAT team waiting for him there and one of them demands him to stop moving as they point their guns at him. Another SWAT officer cheers as they finally catch their fugitive after a long night of chasing who they thought was just a crazy bum.
Outro[]
Cash bolts from the ambushing SWAT team and goes back to the gate where he went through. However, he runs into another SWAT team as the rest of them surround him. The vengeful cops order him to put his hands before preparing to execute him for being a cop-killer, but gunshots are heard as the SWAT team is shot dead.
The Cerberus mercenaries reveal themselves and approach Cash with their Heavy Handguns pointed at him, while their leader calmly walks towards him with a taser in hand. The leader looks at him in the eye for a while before tasing him. His subordinates catch his body and carry him off, but the leader finds a camera amongst the corpses of the SWAT. Surprised, the leader stomps on the camera, killing it.

Trivia[]
- Besides taking place in a train station and several trainyards, “Trained to Kill” may refer to the corrupt CCPD. Police officers may only use violence as a last resort to de-escalate a dangerous situation. Since these cops only have guns and no less-lethal equipment to incapacitate their fugitive and arrest them safely, their only option is to kill Cash. Not to mention that police brutality is prevalent in the CCPD, hence they are trained to kill.
- Also, the name of the scene is possibly a reference to the 1989 movie Trained to Kill.
- This scene features the weather type "Thunderstorm", which only set on this scene.
