The White Rabbit is a supporting character appearing as a minor antagonist in Manhunt.
History[]
Background[]
Little is known about the White Rabbit's backstory. At some point in his life he became involved with Lionel Starkweather's snuff film ring. His gimmick is dressing in a white rabbit suit, impersonating a fictional character from the in-universe horror puppet television show, Frankie and the Freaks.
Events of Manhunt[]
The Rabbit's first and only appearance in the game is during Kill the Rabbit. His initial role in the scene is to guide Cash through the Darkwoods Penitentiary, starting in the shower block and eventually ending in the cafeteria, all the while Cash has to shoot out with the Smileys.
As the chase comes to an end, the Rabbit guides Cash to the prison workshop, where several armed Smileys await. It is here when the Rabbit reveals that the plan is for Cash to die and exits the prison, leaving Cash behind.
Despite being outnumbered and at a disadvantage, Cash wins the ensuing shootout and manages to exit the prison, to the surprise of the Rabbit, who panics and accidentally reveals that he has the key out of the prison before retreating to a guard tower while the Cerberus are released into prison guards to neutralize Cash.
Eventually he manages to kill his pursuers and make the way up to the top of the guard tower where the Rabbit is hiding with a Cerberus soldier. Cash slays them both and retrieves the key from the Rabbit before escaping the prison. Judging by Starkweather choosing the Rabbit to survive the events of the scene over Cash, the Director appears to hold him in high regard. Aside from Kill the Rabbit, the Rabbit is known to have participated in at least two more snuff films: White Rabbits Down the Hole and Here, Bunny Bunny Bunny.[2]
Cheat[]
Upon achieving five star ratings in Kill the Rabbit and Divided They Fall the player unlocks a cheat, which allows them to play with the White Rabbit's appearance. The cheat combination can be viewed in the scenes' respective entries in the bonus menu and must be entered in the game's main menu.
